  Boston is the capital city of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and really by default, the major city of the New England region. As one of the first cities in the United States, Boston has a fantastic mix of history and vibrancy.  

  Beyond being home to quite a bit of bars, nightlife and activity for such a small city, Boston is also a college town, with dozens of colleges and universities in the metro area.  

  In order to reach Boston, most visitors will arrive via Logan Airport. Visitors can also travel to Boston via Amtrak into South Station. Getting around is quite easy via walking the city and using the MBTA or just the T as it is known locally.

Explore the History of the City

  One of the biggest draws to Boston for many is the vast history of the city. Though young by most standards around the rest of the world, Boston is really the site for the founding of America. Wander the red brick line that meanders through the city that is called The Freedom Trail, this will bring you to over a dozen historic sites that relate to the Revolutionary War in the late 1700s.

  What Boston does well is really mix the concepts of old and new. The city is littered with very old buildings that keep a charm. Wander by the waterfront of Boston Harbor and visit the New England Aquarium, and if there is time, take a whale watch as well.

  Boston also is quite the foodie city. From five star restaurants with celebrity chefs, to fleets of new and amazing food trucks, there are a number of great options to eat in Boston. For the seafood lover, this city is a great choice, head over to the Union Oyster House the oldest restaurant in America. And for cheap eats, look for the Roxy’s Grilled Cheese food truck/

  There is also great shopping in Boston as well. For the luxury shoppers, head to Newbury Street, this Bay Bay boulevard has rows of high class shops as well as boutiques. Those who love antiques wander over to Charles Street in the Beacon HIll area, where there are a number shops for browsing.
