Hotel Hermitage (Portoferraio)

This splendid hotel was founded in the early '50s, on the site of a small fishing village, by the Genoese aristocrat Paolo De Ferrari, after he fell in love at first sight with Biodola's fine pink-tinted sand, its deep blue, crystal-clear sea, the heart-wrenching beauty of the bay and its uncontaminated natural setting. The Hotel Hermitage known for its warm hospitality and impeccable service, is situated in the exclusive Biodola’s bay surrounded by the rich Mediterranean self-vegetation inside of the nation park. The hotel is composed of a main-building and charming cottages in the hill and park, directly overlook the Biodola’s beach. The arrangement includes half-board with buffet breakfast and dinner “à la carte” served in the main dining room; at lunch are at disposal for the guests three restaurant: “Fuoco di Bosco” at the pool, “La Ghiotta” on the beach and “Peter Pan” exclusive  for the children, possibility of celiac food. The private beach and three sea water pools, one with hydro-massage, are included in the rate price. The property offers 8 clay tennis courts, 9-holes golf course with practice ground, diving centre , sailing, windsurf, boat hire, slipway and private jetty, mooring buoys, fitness room, beauty centre, 3 km jogging track and splendid mountain bike trails coiffeur and boutique.

The rooms are divided in Suite, Junior-suite, Sea view, Classic and Easy. The 130 rooms, all with patio or balcony framed by flowers, have all the comforts of a luxury hotel. For families are available interconnecting rooms or little apartments. Only in the cottages are admitted small animals.

The Hotel is reached in a hour by ferry from Piombino or by plane from some Italian and Europe cities. We organize also private transfer by boat or plane. During high-season there is the possibility to reach the island from Capraia, Giglio and Corse by boat, cars are not admitted. Our concierge are at disposal for transports and reservations. The Portoferraio’s harbor is 8 km far, following the road to Procchio/Marciana turn right after 5 km to La Biodola beach and drive for 3 km before to arrive to the hotel.
