The three star Western Hotel is located in the heart of Galway city and offers the highest standard of accommodation. The family run hotel comprises of 3 impressive Georgian buildings and blends an old style feel with all modern conveniences.

Among the 40 rooms we have to offer single, double, twin and family rooms, as well as a room with facilities to accommodate our wheelchair using guests. All guest rooms at the Western Hotel are bright and airy and are equipped with bathroom, Hairdryer, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and Internet access.

The Western Bar is a warm and welcoming place, traditional, friendly and renowned for the largest open traditional Irish music sessions in Galway. Our bar is unique in that it is very much a local bar, popular with Galwegians, so mingling with the local people is very easy. The bar offers also complimentary wireless access and traditional entertainment at night. A selection of delicious dishes is available from our Carvery, Snack Menu and our a la carte Evening Menu. Our meals are prepared from fresh local produce by our award winning chef.

The Western Hotel has a long tradition of hospitality, enjoyed by our many guests throughout the years. A unique and friendly atmosphere allows you to feel right at home. Hotel Policy and Terms & Conditions:
Please carefully read the text below. By making a booking at The Western Hotel or The CityPoint Apartments you are accepting the Hotel Policy and Terms & Conditions.

Special Policy applies to Race week bookings and are to be advised by the hotel at the time of booking.

Individual Bookings Terms and Conditions An Individual booking is an accommodation booking for up to 3 rooms or 2 apartments.

Booking Procedure:
To confirm a booking, valid credit card details and full contact details are required. Where a credit card is not available, the Hotel may agree to accept a cash deposit. In the case of a cash deposit, the balance remaining must be paid prior to arrival. Rooms kept on hold but not confirmed with a deposit or credit card details are not guaranteed and may be released by the Hotel for sale at any time without prior notification.

Security Deposit:
Upon arrival, for all apartment and suite bookings, a signed damage contract is required. At its own discretion, the hotel may request cash or credit card pre-authorization for €250 as a security deposit.
The deposit is refunded on departure if no damage has occurred.

Cancellation Policy - Individual Bookings Rooms cancelled up to 24 hours prior to 12:00 PM of the booked arrival date will be cancelled free of charge. Apartments or Suites cancelled up to 48 hours prior 12:00 PM of the booked arrival date will be cancelled free of charge.

Any rooms or apartments cancelled after that time will be charged the full rate of the first night’s accommodation.

The Western Hotel and CityPoint Apartments are providing Non Smoking accommodation. There is a charge of €200 for smoking in the rooms or apartments.

Group Bookings Terms and Conditions:
A Group booking is an accommodation booking for 4 and more rooms or 3 and more apartments

Booking Procedure:
To confirm a group booking, a total deposit of 50% is required one week after requesting rooms to be kept on hold or placing an online booking. A second deposit of 50% will be required 2 weeks in advance of the booked date. Where a credit card is not available, the Hotel may agree to accept a cash deposit. Rooms kept on hold but not confirmed with deposit or credit card details are not guaranteed and may be released by the Hotel for sale at any time without prior notification.

If the booking concerns dates less than 4 weeks away from the date of enquiry, 50% of the booking value has to be paid at the time of booking. Accordingly, if the booking concerns dates less than 2 weeks away from the date of enquiry, 100% of the booking value has to be paid at the time of booking. Rooms kept on hold but not confirmed with deposit may be released by the Hotel for sale at any time without prior notification.

All deposit payments are to be settled directly with The Western Hotel.

Security Deposit:
Upon arrival a cash deposit or credit card pre-authorization for 1/3 of the total booking value, but not less than €250 is required as a security deposit and the Damage Contract stating that all damages exceeding the deposit amount will be covered by the booking party needs to be signed. The deposit is refunded on departure if no damage has occurred.

Cancellation Policy - Group Bookings:
In the event of cancelling a group booking, the following charges will apply to all accommodation booked by the group and all other individual rooms associated with the group:
• Within 2 weeks = 100%
• Within 4 weeks = 50%

Quality of Service: In order for us to provide you with our high standard of service, the pre-arranged arrival times must be adhered to. Time of arrival, rooming list and meal time, if booked, must be arranged in advance.

Additional provisions:
- The hotel reserves the right to refuse to accommodate groups in the following cases;
- The hotel believes the booking may prejudice the reputation of the hotel
- The hotel believes that the group could behave in a way considered detrimental, offensive or contrary to expected standard behavior
- In the circumstances where the booking was made through a third party or under false pretences
