Positive Nice hotel, pool and beach. Very clean with nice views of the ocean. The staff was professional and friendly. They have a nice workout room. Negative The hotel is far from the town. The food at the buffett was mediocre at best.

Positive If you're looking to be "away" from the crowds of Puerto Vallarta, then Barcelo may be a good choice. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. As for the pool, there are ample chairs to use. Negative Food is alright. Nothing to write home about - alright for a buffet. After a while, might get bored of "cafeteria" food. Didn't have the chance to dine in the "reserved" restaurants - may be better. On the weekends, Barcelo is popular with the locals

Positive My room had a beautiful view of the ocean and the pool. The food provided was wonderful and there were many restaurants to select from. The staff was courteous and very helpful. Negative The hotel is located a bit far from the downtown area and so if you'd like to check out bars and restaurants outside the hotel, you have to take a 20 minute cab ride.
