Das "Grand Hotel Astoria" entstand am Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts, als Grado noch das Urlaubsziel der Habsburger und des mitteleuropäischen Adels war. Das Hotel erlebte prunkvolle Zeiten und beherbergte das Kasino. Nach neuerlichen Umbauten 1991 wurde es wieder eröffnet. Heute strahlt es wieder im neuen Glanz und bietet neuzeitlichen gehobenen Komfort.
Das Hotel befindet sich wenige Meter vom Meer entfernt, im historischen Zentrum aus der Römerzeit. Es verfügt über 124 Zimmer mit Schallisolierung, Klimaanlage und individueller Heizung, Direktwahltelefon, Minibar, Sat-TV und direkter Internetverbindung. Barrierefreie Zimmer sind ebenfalls vorhanden.
Die Restaurants bieten reiche Vorspeisenbuffets und hauseigene Patisserie. Außer dem klassischen Restaurant stehen das "Settimo Cielo", Panorama-Restaurant/Bar im 1. Stock mit Meerblick, das rustikale Lokal "Osteria al Gial" mit vorzüglichen Weinen und typisch friulanischen Produkten, und eine elegante Pianobar zur Verfügung.
Im 1. Stock gibt es außerdem ein Schwimmbad mit Panoramasicht und großer Solarium-Terrasse, im Zwischengeschoss ein Hallenschwimmbad mit Wasserfall und Hydromassage. Beide Schwimmbäder sind mit Meerwasser gefüllt, das etwa 100 m vom Strand entfernt entnommen wird. Das Gesundheitsangebot wird ergänzt durch ein Zentrum für Talasso- und Physiotherapie im 1. Stock, das von Fachpersonal geführt wird und zu dessen Angeboten u.a. regelmäßige Thermalkuren, Inhalationen, Massagen sowie Beauty-Behandlungen zählen.
