Husum –Colourful Town by the Sea
The North Sea town of Husum is situated on the North Frisian mud flats and it is the gateway to the islands and Halligen in the North Sea. The characteristic patrician houses are well worth a visit and they date back to the 16th Century. The Castle and the attractive inland harbour. The district town of Husum is also well-known as an exhibition town and it has an interesting range of cultural highlights to offer.
Directly on the West Coast – Easy to Reach by Train
You can reach Husum by car via the B5 from the direction of Hannover. The train station is frequented on an hourly basis by trains from the West Coast. The IC stops several times a day in Husum on the Hamburg-Westerland route. Urban buses run within the town and there is a regular bus service in the region.
Renaissance Castle and Excursions
In the middle of idyllic parkland, you will find the Husumer Schloss “Husum Castle” which originates from the 16th Century with its opulent fireplaces, a chapel, the Knight´s Hall and a Castle Café with a Sun Terrace.
During your visit you should not forget a Schiffsausflug „boat trip“ to the mud flats in the Schleswig Holstein national park or a visit to the Multimar-Wattforums “Multimar Watt Forum” in Tönning.
Classical Concerts and Vivid History
In the Marienkirche as well as in the castle, regular top-class concerts take place. However, for friends of the alternative scene, you will feel at home at the Speicher in Husum.
A must is a visit to the Nordseemuseums „North Sea Museum“ with an exhibition about the region, a valuable paintings collection and a vivid local history.
It is also highly recommended that you visit the Storm-Museum in the historical water row at the harbour.

In the homey atmosphere, the chef conjures up spontaneous exquisite creations with fresh ingredients from the region with a Mediterranean flair. There is a good selection of wine offered with it.
